When you hear the whine of a 4 rotor engine behind you, you know it's over. That's the sound that roared across the finish line at Le Mans when Mazda's infamous 787B screamed across the checkered flag taking the first place spot at the 24 Hours at Le Mans, giving Japan their first Le Mans victory and putting them in the spotlight. Mazda made a racecar so good, the 787B and the rotory engine were banned from competing at Le Mans again shortly after the first rotary power car won the title.
